WATERTOWN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 19, 2019-- Bright Horizons® (NYSE:BFAM) has been named by FORTUNE as one of the 2019 Best Workplaces for Women. The ranking considered more than 4.6 million employee surveys from organizations in a wide range of industries across the U.S.

“I am proud that our employees have earned us a spot on this list for the second year in a row as recognition of our commitment to supporting women,” said Mary Lou Burke Afonso, Bright Horizons’ Chief Operating Officer, North America. “That women represent a majority on both our Board of Directors and our Senior Leadership Team is a natural outgrowth and representation of nurturing and recruiting the best talent out there. We are proud of our strong record of women in leadership at every level throughout the organization, and we are proud to support other employers as they strive to achieve the same.”

Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and consulting firm, evaluated women’s responses to more than 60 questions about their workplace, and how fairly those experiences compare to men’s reports of the same workplaces. The survey measures the extent to which women report their organizations create a Great Place to Work For All™ – for example, whether people trust each other and employees are able to reach their full human potential, no matter who they are or what they do.

“These winning companies are thriving because women have an equal seat at every table where critical decisions are made,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “Organizations like Bright Horizons know that creating a great workplace where everyone can succeed regardless of gender is not just the right thing to do, but a must-do if you want to be the very best of everything in the marketplace.”

The Best Workplaces for Women list is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and FORTUNE based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations. Earlier this year, Bright Horizons was also named of FORTUNE’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” for the 18th time.

Bright Horizons is joined on the FORTUNE list by many of its employer clients that provide their employees with work/life benefits to help manage their job and family responsibilities.
